it’s not Spring

It’s freezing outside, so I couldn’t bring myself to use a “Spring” color…instead, I moseyed on over to my China Glaze Metro Downtown collection.

I chose China Glaze  “Westside Warrior”

I still wanted it to be “girly”, so I added a flower of Sinful Colors “Vacation Time”, with a dot of gold metallic acrylic paint.

Mint? maybe.  Apple? not to me.

More like "Mint Moss".  lol.  But that name is not nearly as pleasant as Mint Apple,  I suppose.

It’s still a nice color though.  I need to come up with a better name and send it to the Sinful Colors Marketing Department….

Red Light, Green Light

I hate driving.  But I think I hate public transportation in Chicago more.

Last week I was greeted by mail with a Red Light Enforcement Camera Ticket.

FOR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS?!?!?!?  O_O

Now, TECHNICALLY, I didn’t run a red light.  I made a right turn.  On red.  At a permitted right turn on red light. 
So, you KNOW I was ready to contest this ticket….. until I watched the video.  Then realized that I never really came to a complete stop before the light turned red before I turned. 

BUT IT WAS BECAUSE THE LIGHT WAS YELLOW WHEN I REALLY STARTED MY TURN!!!!! 

I don’t feel like fighting the ticket though.  And since I still hate public transportation more than driving right now…. I’m never driving that route to work anymore ever again. Never. 
I’m still mad about this stupid ticket!

I used Orly Matte Top Coat on the gray based nails to allow the “lights” to stand out, and topped just the acrylic paint dots with a dot of Seche Vite for shine.  Did it work?

My nails wanted to make a statement.  Wanted to be “heard”.

So I pulled out bold and bright primary & a couple secondary colors in the loudest temperature I owned. And let them scream.

For some odd reason the blue base in the purple is so strong it’s difficult to differentiate it from the blue in the pictures.  If I can get a clear picture to show PURPLE instead of blue, I will post asap!

Beautiful Girl

Felt like a princess with a little crown after this manicure.

Maybe my expectations are too high now because I am not at all enamored with the formulation of this polish.  It’s a pretty color, but it’s thin, and slightly streaky.  You will most definitely have to use a minimum of two coats for any remote coverage and opacity.  I will still use it again… because like I said, it’s a pretty color.    Plus, I feel like a beautiful girl with it on.

I’m still trying to get into the holiday season spirit.

I’m going to start holding my fingernails above my head…. and see what happens. lol

Candy Canes!!

I did it.

Now I can truly say Happy Holidays….. and mean it.

Shamica requested a candy cane design. And now I’m happy she did. I feel like my fingernails will taste like Christmas candy.

funny that people are paying attention even if you don’t think they are….

my coworker commented that I didn’t do a design on my nails “today”….. but my “new french” manicure (from yesterday) IS a design!!!!!!  classic…. but still a design, no doubt….

I had an extremely long day, so, to unwind, I had to stir things up.  And “do a design”  lol. 

this color just caught my eyes.  and the new purple paint I got this weekend was waving over there from the side, so I splashed some dots on. I can tell when I really like my nails….. I look at them over and over……. I can’t keep my eyes off these.

BFF – Bland for Fran, my bff

More than anything, I know with certainty that my best friend Fran, HATES a neutral color palette for her nails!

So I was searching for a wonderfully bland, neutral, non-stimulating color just for her!  LMAO.
I actually found an absolutely beautifully finished and gracefully delicate and classy color in my Sinful Colors stash. Out of This World (My SDA-friendly polish lovers –>this is definitely one for you)   

 . . . . But then I got distracted, in my normal “polish ADHD” fashion, and had to swagggg that polish out.  I layered a couple of coats of Sinful Colors Queen of Beauty on top. Luv it!  The glitter in this polish has great coverage but the finish is smooth like no glitter exists.  This is good polish right here!

I like the look of my nails better in everyday life than photos with the bottle of polish.  You can see the detail of the glitter in this pic from my cab ride on the way to work. Almost looks like aluminum foil
